She was one of the few women to earn her bachelor's degree in mathematics from ASU in the 60's.
She went on to earn her master's degree from ASU, also.
She started teaching mathematics at Washington Elementary School.
After receiving her master's in counseling, she moved to Glendale High School as a part-time math teacher and part-time counselor. She eventually moved to Apollo High School as a full-time counselor the year Apollo opened.
She met her life's goals by having both of her daughters graduate from college, as well as encouraging those students she counseled to further their education.
She is survived by her two daughters, Terrie Lee Rendler and Margaret "Sue " Seymour; her four grandchildren, Joseph Krieg, Mary Causey, Corena Barr and Andrea Thomas; and her great-grandchildren Colt Causey and Cameron Causey.
