Preceded in death is her sister, Norma Vanderhoff. Her husband, Vernon Humphrey, 93, survives her and they were married 73 years. They met as teenagers and it was “love at first sight” per Marian’s note. Also survived by their 3 daughters, Eileen Eaton, Janet Chapman, and Diane Lutz, all residing in AZ and 7 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren (five generations).
She was a very amazing lady and anyone who knew her was aware of her many talents. Two examples: she skipped 2 grades in school and attended Edinboro State Teacher’s College at the age of 15 and played her violin as a backup for Buck Owens at a county fair. She loved music and people, was an avid reader and “can’t” was not in her vocabulary. She excelled at sales for many years making it possible for our family to participate and live a different lifestyle than others. She made our clothing, played the violin in a country western band, the piano and organ in church, provided various lessons for their daughters, etc. Her love for family was the most important of all.
