

Marilyn J. Dunbar, 79, of Surprise, AZ passed away early Friday morning November 19th. She is survived by her daughter Julie and son-in-law George Prentice of Phoenix, AZ; son Donald and daughter-in-law Michele Dunbar of Bloomington, IN; four grandchildren: Amanda Jacob (Paul) of Taipei; Matthew Kaufman (Sean) of Denver, CO; Marcus Dunbar of Bloomington, IN; and Justin Dunbar of Las Vegas, NV; great- grandchild Theo Jacob, son of Amanda and Paul; and her dog Bo. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Roy A. Dunbar, who died in 2001. Marilyn was born and raised in Omaha, NE. She was employed by the Bell System in three different states before retiring from Indiana Bell in Bloomington. She was a big fan of Indiana football and basketball and enjoyed many other sports. She could out sports talk the most avid fan. Marilyn loved playing cards, especially the game of bridge, which she once taught when living in Bloomington. She and Roy moved to Surprise, AZ in 2001 where she continued to focus on her passions, family, bridge and sports. Some of that passion transferred to her local Arizona college and professional teams, but her Indiana teams always came first. She will be sadly missed by many friends and her family. A celebration of her life will be scheduled in conjunction with the 80th anniversary of her birth, December 6th.
