Mary Josephine Peters , 85, from Detroit, MI, most recently from Sun City, AZ passed away on November 4th, 2018 losing the struggle of life with Alzheimer’s disease. Having been born and raised in MI she relocated to Arizona in 2000 to pursue life as a retired grandmother of five grandchildren that she cherished more than anything.
She is survived by her two children Linda Rozet (Peters) and Craig Peters, five grandchildren Raymond , Anthony , Nicole , Katie and Christie Rozet, Sisters Joann Lange, and Frances DaRocha and brother Paul Conte. She is preceded in death by her Most Beloved Husband and soulmate, Rene’ Peters, Brother Carl Conte and her parents Frank and Jennie Conte.
Mary successfully retired from Beaumont Hospital in 2000 as a medical secretary after working tirelessly to put herself through school and to develop a career while raising two children.
Mary was very much loved by the many people she touched throughout her life and will be remembered most for her generosity, smile, unconditional love, energy, spirit and willingness to help so many. She showed overwhelming ongoing support to her children, grandchildren and siblings as she put helping others before herself.
She married the love of her life and left alone in this life without him all too soon after marriage. She made it obvious to anyone that came in contact with her how much she loved her late husband Rene’ as even up til the time of her passing he was always the subject of many of her stories.
She lived out her life as a story line waiting for the gates of heaven to open for the day that she could reunite with him, so for this the family is rejoicing for her reunion with him after almost 37 years of waiting.
Mary enjoyed swimming, thrift shopping, sewing, dancing and social clubs throughout life.
The Family would like to thank Silverado Memory Care Home very much for their love, care and assistance during Mary’s last years. Our family asks that in lieu of flowers you direct donations to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America as well as take a moment to appreciate life.
Friends and Extended Family will be welcomed to Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 for the visitation at 11:30am, the funeral service at 1pm and a light luncheon to follow all at the same location. Gravesite Burial will subsequently take place in the near future with her late husband Rene’.
