She was born here in Phoenix and went on to marry George Barrios in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mercedes had a career in assembly and soldering for the companies Digital and Celwave.
Mercedes had many dear passions, which included knitting, reading, camping, and fishing.
She is survived by her significant other, George Barrios, her daughter, Debra Chaidez, and her grandchildren, Antonio Contreras, and Charles & Alex Gillette. Mercedes is also survived by her great-grandchild, Xavier Gillette, her sister, Sandra Torres, as well as her nieces: Donnie Turner, Charlyne Hill, and Cathy Turner; along with her nephew, Gary Turner.
Gone but never forgotten, Mercedes lives on in the hearts of her family and all those whose lives she touched.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Greer-Wilson Chapel, located at 5921 West Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85033, US, on November 12, 2025, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The committal service will take place at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 2300 West Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85009, US, on November 12, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
