Michael Leo Colombraro

Born in Tacoma September 27, 1956 to Louie and Shirley (Freisheim) Colombraro the fifth of seven children.

He attended St. Patrick grade school, Jason Lee Jr High and Stadium High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served three years in Germany.

He was a delivery truck driver for many years and would delight his young niece and nephews by bringing home the “Orange Crush-mobile” for the weekend.

He loved the Seahawks and NASCAR. True to his Tacoma roots he often answered the phone: “Frisco Freeze, What’s your order”. Eleven years ago he was diagnosed with bladder cancer and not only beat the 5 year survival rate but added another six years to his life. During that time he did something he always wanted to do, he left to live on a Mexican beach for 3 years.

Left to miss his hilarious sense of humor are his sisters, Catherine Mitchell, Manchester, WA, Christine Smith, Scottsdale, AZ, and Susan Colombraro, Manchester, WA; brothers, John Colombraro and wife Susan Belanger, Brunswick, ME., and James Colombraro, Kent, WA; niece, Catherine (Cacky) Jones and husband Greg Jones, grandnieces Jordan Cooper and Adriona Knight, and great grand niece Parker Cooper; nephews, Nick Kiley and Daniel Mitchell and Dan’s fiancé Amanda Jackson; Mike’s best friend since grade school, Don Brisbois and many Freisheim and Colombraro cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Paul and namesake nephew, Kyle Michael Colombraro.

Military Services will be conducted in Phoenix at a later date. The family wishes to thank all the doctors at Mayo Clinic and the Phoenix VA for their dedication to keeping Mikey healthy longer than we thought possible; Hospice of the Valley for their tender attention to his needs and lots help to get the family geared up and trained to care for him in his own home.
