Michael Patrick Dunn

Michael P Dunn died Friday, February 4, 2022 after a debilitating battle with cancer. Michael was a resident of Peoria, AZ. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Edward J and Sarah A Dumm. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly J Myers.

Surviving are his daughter, Bethany Harris and two grandchildren, Ember and Orion in the Peoria area, sister Rebecca Dimino (Norristown, PA), brothers Joseph Dumm (Hollidaysburg, PA) and Richard Dumm (Jefferson Hills, PA), nephew Matthew Dumm (S. Lake Tahoe, CA) and niece Kelly Dumm (Altoona, PA). He worshiped and adored his daughter and grandchildren.

Michael graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle High School in 1965, where he was a member of the basketball team and Point Park University in 1970, where he was a member of the golf team. Shortly after graduation, he moved to the Phoenix area where he has resided for the last 52 years. In Phoenix, Michael and Beverly had a special, loving friendship with Paul and Donna Temcio and their children, Paul and Amy.

He had a career working for the American Express Corporation and after retirement, he worked part time for the Peoria School District.

He was an avid golfer, played year round and volunteered as treasurer for the Fairview Recreation Center, Sun City Golf Courses. He scored five verified “holes in one” during his golfing career. He was a devoted fan of the Pirates, Penguins and Steelers and especially enjoyed attending Steeler games in various cities. He also loved to attend Rolling Stones concerts.

Michael had many relatives and friends in the Altoona, Pittsburgh and Phoenix area. He will be sadly missed by all. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.phoenixmemorialmortuary.com for the Michael Dunn family.

There will be no viewing or services. A “Celebration of Life” event will be held in in the Phoenix area and in Altoona at a later date.
