Miles R. Mawby, 67, was called home by the Lord on July 6th at Hospice of the Valley after a short battle with lung cancer. He was born March 2, 1951 to Marion and Katherine Mawby at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Lafayette Elementary School and Camelback High School. He joined the Army in 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1972. He married Kathryn in 1975. He worked several jobs until finding his passion doing underground construction, where he retired as a supervisor. Miles always lived in Arizona. His last residence was in Glendale, Arizona. He loved to fish and hunt, especially with his sons and brother. He and Kathy loved to travel and discovered cruises, especially enjoying the Alaskan cruise. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; four sons: Christopher, Andrew, Matthew and Patrick, and daughter, Krystal; daughter-in-law, Catherina; granddaughter, Mia Grace, the apple of his eye. He is also survived by his brother, Gene; sisters: Kathy and Melanie and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Steven and Richard. A visitation will be held on July 12th from 5-8 pm at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on July 13th at 2 pm at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary at 710 W Bethany Home Road.
