My mother graced this earth for 85 years, and she will forever be in our hearts.
She affectionately referred to herself as a professional homemaker, but she was so much more than that. My mom attended the University of Southern California, where she was a Liberal Arts major. She also met my father there - he was a standout baseball player for the Trojans. They served in the Air Force together (when you marry a fighter pilot you marry the military), and actually spent three years of their tour overseas in Germany. She told me that this period was the most challenging and rewarding time of her life, having to be so far from home while starting a family of their own.
She was the BEST mother a kid could have, a sentiment that my two brothers (John and Glenn) would agree with I’m certain. My mom raised all of us to be good citizens, to be respectful, and to be accountable for our actions. More than that though, she showed us the love and caring that only a devoted mother can. She was “all in” when it came to her family, and there was never a doubt when it came to her supporting us in our endeavors.
My mom instilled a desire in my brothers and me to strive for perfection in everything we did. I give her much of the credit for my achievements in life, both professional and personal in nature. Although her constant attention to detail could be overwhelming at times, it helped teach me one of life’s most important lessons - that it ALL matters.
Patricia leaves behind three children and their spouses, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren (all boys - except for the wives!). She loved all of her boys!
We will miss her terribly, but we are forever grateful for the impact that she had on all of our lives. She was truly a gift from God!
