
Richard Ball Dagger, 93, of Tempe died July 29th following a short period of failing health. Born December 19, 1917 to Robert and Sarah (Davison) Dagger, he spent his youth in Somerville, NJ. After Army service in WWII he earned teaching degrees from SE Missouri State College and Southern Illinois University. He retired to Tempe from Jennings, MO in 1978 following a teaching career in Missouri and Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife Julia (Verhines) Dagger, a step-son, Michael Howard and a sister, Jane Rigler. Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Straub of Florida, two sons, Richard of Richmond, VA and Steven of Dixon, MT, beloved friends Dorothy Colby, Randi and Marcus Luckeneder, three grandchildren, Christopher Howard, Emily Dagger and Elizabeth Dagger, and two great grandchildren.
