

Roberta June Schmeckpeper (Parker) passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 at 7:02am. She was born September 3rd, 1934 in Stockton, California to Eugene & Alice Parker while they were passing through. A few days later they returned home to Tolleson, Az. Roberta lived in Arizona her whole life. She owned her own business, Roberta's Draperies, from 1970 to 1987. She married the love of her life, Wayne Schmeckpeper in 1974. He proceeded her in death in April 1997. She is survived by her sister Debra Thompson; Her loving daughters, Holly Brogdon and Lydia (Roger) Pippin; granddaughters Natasha (Mark) Schnabel, Andrea (Nick) Berry, Brenda Pippin & Amy (Deon) McClinton. She has four great grandchildren (Sydney Schnabel, Keira McClinton, Deion McClinton and Avery Berry) with two more on the way; her nieces, Carmella (Joe) Sobley, Leinani Jones, Darrah Jones; Nephew, Tommie Wheeler; great nieces Ella Sobley, Zoe Parker & Nevaeh Parker; great nephew Jessup Sobley and Liam Parker. She was loved by many in the community and served the Lord faithfully at Longmore Road Baptist Church for almost 40 years. She was passionate in her support of the Lottie Moon Missionaries. She opened her heart and home to so many, especially touching the lives of so many children. She had a daycare in her home from 1998 to February 2016. Every child called her Grandma Berta and she loved them as her own. She was the very example of being God's hands and feet. She even sponsored a foreign exchange student in 2000 named Jessica Weber. Jessica became a granddaughter to Roberta and sister to her granddaughters, even after returning home to Germany. Roberta's passion was to serve Christ and bring others to Him. When you walked into her home, you were loved unconditionally. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
