Robin M. Benner, Jr., our father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away January 20, 2013. Robin passed away due to complications from Lewy-body dementia that he suffered from for over seven years. Although this disease took his memories from him, we will remember him for the unique mind and spirit he had. His compassion and kindness were complemented by his sense of humor and willingness to help everyone that came into his life.
Having spent most of his 76 years in Phoenix, he loved his family, job, golf, and taking care of his lawn. A lover of beer, country music, and Mexican food, Robin lead a simple but impactful life. He worked almost his entire career as a mechanical engineer for Honeywell’s Aerospace division along with a short stint in the Navy and during the summers, at the Grand Canyon when he was a teenager.
What a lot of us did not know about him, we are slowly discovering in photos and keepsakes recently uncovered. Our dad was creative, artistic, and most likely the smartest person to ever flunk Kindergarten. We’ve missed him tremendously the past few years and now he is finally at peace and hopefully, once again, reliving the memories that made him a great person to us all.
