Ron Kent Hooper

Ron Kent Hooper, 84, was called to his eternal home on June 9, 2025 following a long battle with cancer. He was born in Steamboat Springs, CO, the only child of Dr. Clem Ronald and Mildred Frances Wolf-Hooper, on September 30, 1940. On July 13, 1968 he married Jean Stout.

Ron was an inspiration to the many who had the privilege of knowing him, and his passing has left a void in the hearts of family, friends and those whose lives he touched. He resided in Scottsdale, AZ since 1955. After graduating from Scottsdale High School, Class of 1959, he attended Arizona State University (love of science), Northern Arizona University (love of nature), and graduated from the University of Arizona Law School, Class of 1966. He litigated for 58 years in Scottsdale and Phoenix before retiring in January 2025.

Having an unquenchable thirst for science, legal and political knowledge, he spent countless hours researching topics from politics to blackholes. Ron's sense of humor was amusing and entertaining. A joke from his collection of old, silly and dumb jokes almost always caused his Jeannie to shake her head. Above all, he had a passion for nature, whether it was hiking up a mountain trail or riding his favorite horse deep into the Arizona wilderness.

Ron is predeceased by his parents, Dr C.R. and Mildred Hooper; two uncles, Dr Gerald Hooper, Denver, CO and Dr. Hollis Wolf, Colorado Springs, CO; and one aunt, Laura Ruth Titus, Worthington, OH. Besides his wife of 57 years, he is survived by a niece, Emily A York, her daughter, Evelyn Elaine York and several cousins.

The Hooper family wishes to thank all the fabulous doctors, nurses and caregivers for their genuine concern and expertise during Ron's journey. Your kindness made a difference. Ron's body will be cremated and, as per his wishes, there won't be a service.
