Joy = Jesus, others, then yourself; a motto that Ron lived by daily.

Ron was a simple guy with a profound wisdom.  He had a knack for taking complex ideas and breaking them down to a simple form.  He had a few things,  Ronisms  that he loved to say.  Maybe you heard some of them!

When it came to Laura there was no other.  He adored her.  When Mama's not happy, aint nobody happy was not just a saying to him, but his highest intention.  He didn't tolerate anyone challenging his wife.  He was a faithful protector and defender.  She was his pride and joy and no one; sibling, parent, child, friend or foe was going to harm her without him taking notice.

Ron was a lover. He loved his children and grandchildren and had a pet name for each of them.  He poured his life into them taking the opportunity to make every day a teachable moment.  

On the way to school each morning he would sing buckle up for safety, buckle up!   He reminded them to be good, that your brothers and sisters are your best friends and to be aware of who's got your back. He told them You're one of the best and You're Jesus' favorite.

Ron was often accused of wearing rose colored glasses because he not only said, but lived a life of seeing a need and helping, believing that every day was an adventure and he looked and found the good in everyone.

Ron saw the hand of God in everything.  His life was radically changed when he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  He spoke of Him in almost every conversation.  His greatest desire is to see you in heaven.  He knows it is your choice, but he longs to see you all again.

Ron loved to serve others.  He would often be in the hospital sitting with those who were 
sick or dying.  He was an amazing encourager!

He often said joyfully, trash is my life because with a large family he was taking trash out regularly.  He saw it as a blessing because it meant that his family was taken care of and prospering.  He cleaned up and took out the trash wherever and whenever there was a need.

He also loved to mow grass.  He always said, don't let the grass die, because, if it was dead he couldn't mow it.  He loved to sit for hours and watch the sprinklers run because if the sprinklers were running, he would soon be able to mow the grass!  His kids were always nervous when the mower was in the back of the pickup truck because they never 
knew what detour might be taken to mow at the church or Aunt Marge's or anywhere else along the way.

He often noted that this too will" pass ,"Life is messy" there is no 
hill for the stepper, you can get used to anything , Life is on the job training  I would not stand in line for that! and most of the time we will outlast them!

Although Ron had many physical challenges, he rarely spoke of them.  He always carried the suitcases and the groceries even when he was in excruciating pain.  He could have qualified for a handicap parking but rather parked way out to leave a space for someone in need.  

He loved music and found inspiration in it.   He would often quote a song and then say, There's a song in there somewhere .  You're an Overcomer, It's Friday, but Sunday is coming!

This past year, since retiring, he often noted that every day is a Saturday, but it was Sunday, his favorite day of the week, that he went to see his precious Lord.  He is beyond healthy and happy.  We rejoice for you Ron, but we miss you like crazy.  We remember your Ronisms and we are better because of it.
