Salvatore “Sal”,”Sam” Joseph Magnolo was born on October 5, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN to his parents Salvatore and Florina Magnolo. He departed this earth on April 15, 2021 at 88 years old in Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents Salvatore and Florina, his 5 siblings Julia, Mary, Riki, Josephine and Peter Magnolo. He is survived by his wife Donna, 3 children; Sharon, Steven and Michael Magnolo, 5 step-children; Geoffrey, Scott, Lisa, LeeAnne and Todd, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Sal accomplished many things in his life. His parents migrated here to the United States from Italy and he was proud to be a first generation American. He was brought up Catholic and had his first communion at 8 years old. He was proud of graduating high school and attending many of the high school reunions. He joined the US Army on February 26, 1951 and served a tour in the Korean War and was Honorably discharged from the Army as a Private First Class on February 16, 1954. He was proud of his service and this accomplishment. He coached and played hockey with his sons, as well as he coached girls softball with his daughter. He went on to play in the Senior Hockey and Softball League. He had a passion for golf, stock car races and playing poker. His golf record was 9 holes in 1!! He was a claims agent for a Life Insurance company most of his life, a car salesman and worked in the construction industry before he retired.
Sal loved family, life and now he will be playing on that big golf course in the sky. He will be truly missed by all and will always and forever be in our hearts.
