

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Shirley Ann Kimes on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the age of 78 years, comforted by her loved ones at the Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, Arizona. Shirley was born to James Walter Adair and Irene Edna Adair on November 4, 1941 in Georgia.
Shirley married Raymond Eugene Kimes Sr. who she had three children with. They lived in Arizona. She worked at Woolco and as a snack bar manager at Target for many years. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to People’s Valley with her husband Raymond. She also had a love for Judge Judy and would watch replays of it on a daily basis which made everyone laugh. Shirley will be remembered as one of the most selfless people to ever exist. She was always helping anyone who needed it without thinking twice.
Shirley will be missed by everyone she touched during her lifetime. She is survived by her two sisters Debbie Settle and Pat Lyman, her grandchildren Erin Childers (Todd), Bryan Kimes, and Daniel Kimes, her great grandchildren Autumn, Tristen, Bailey, Briana, DJ, and Wayne, and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents James Walter Adair and Irene Edna Adair, her husband Raymond Eugene Kimes Sr., her son Raymond Eugene Kimes Jr., her daughter Sharon Diane Huntington, and her five siblings.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Friday, October 4th, 2019 at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Road. A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM and the services will be at 11:00 AM with graveside burial at 12:00 PM.
