Sonya Jane Martinez

Sonya was born to her loving parents Raymond and Patricia Martinez on August 21, 1973. After attending South Mountain High School, she went on to earn her Associates Degree in Business Administration in May of 2006. Using her wealth of knowledge, she went on to explore various career opportunities that would allow her to develop treasurable friendships that would last a lifetime.

Sonya loved to love people. She made it a priority to spend quality time creating unforgettable memories with all her family and friends. She also had a love for adventure and seeing the beautiful sights this world has to offer. Whenever an opportunity to travel would arise, she’d be sure to take it. Many will remember her as a ray of sunshine with a contagious laugh and a beautiful smile that would brighten any room she entered. To those whose heart she touched she was an embodiment of strength, kindness, compassion, and much more.

Sonya is survived by her children Daniel, Xavier, and BriyaMarie Contreras, mother Patricia Martinez, siblings James, Richard, and Marguerite Martinez and countless friends and clients who loved her dearly.

Please join us celebrating her life Saturday morning December 30th, 2023 with a visitation that will begin at 11:00 A.M. Her funeral to follow at 12:00 P.M. Services will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary - Serenity Chapel, 719 N. 27th Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85009.
