Tom Elliott McCowan, 84, retired Staff Sergeant: United States Air Force, Arizona Highway Engineer: Department of Transportation, Brother of the Paradise Valley Masonic Lodge passed away peacefully on May 22, 2021. Tom was known to many as an ornery individual who never shied away from making his opinions known on various political topics and social subjects. While Tom had unique notions, he will forever be loved and immensely missed by all. He was both a kind and jovial man who would jump at the chance to help a neighbor, family, or friend in need. His sense of humor and contagious laughter resonated and could be felt by everyone in the room at any of the community breakfasts he provided or happy hours he hosted at his house in Forest Lakes, Arizona. Tom was the self-proclaimed 'Mayor of Forest Lakes' for almost 12 years, prior to relocating to Sun City, Arizona.
Tom will be deeply missed and is survived by his daughters, Ellie, Tami and Sheryl, and granddaughters, Katelyn, Abigial and Ashlyn. Tom did not want a funeral to be held on his behalf. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley - Arizona at www.hov.org.
