Veronica M. Watkins

Watkins, Veronica 77, of Phoenix Arizona passed away August 5, 2011. She was born February 22, 1934 in Cardiff, Wales to Mirimum and George Hassen. Veronica was the eldest of five girls. She married Burnett Watkins a Senior Master Sergeant and came to the USA. She had three children Paul, Stephanie, David, and daughter in law Shirley. She was a loving grandmother to Yasmeen, Meshach, Joshua, Sean, and nephew Seth. Veronica is survived by her four sisters, Hazel, Marilyn, Mary and Avril and many nieces and nephew, Jay in her hometown of Cardiff along with many close and dear friends in Phoenix. She was a successful educator touching the lives of many teachers, and students. At the age of 57 she retired from the public school system where she served in the Prendergast district and made a new home at St. Louis the King Catholic School. This year would have been her 13th year at the school. She survived many trials and tribulations while serving as a dedicated mother and educator and on August 5, 2011 she was laid to rest. Services will be held at St. Loius the King, 4331 W. Maryland Ave. Glendale. Wednesday August 10, 2011. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A. M.Funeral Mass Will begin at 10:30 AM.
