Bowers, Virginia May Mead On March 22, 2014 our beloved mother Virginia May Mead Bowers began her journey to be reunited with our family members who have been anxiously awaiting her arrival. She was born to Lorin Mead and Nellie Pauline Young Mead in Bellefontaine Ohio on May 22, 1928. She was predeceased by her husband of forty four years Alva N Bowers Jr., daughter Ginnie Lynn Bowers, sons Alva N Bowers III, Kevin Bowers, and three sisters Phyllis, Connie and Jean. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Kerry and Ronda Bowers of DeKalb Texas, Scott and Geneva Bowers of Scottsdale Arizona, her daughters and son-in-law Nanette and Chris Gerber of Desert Hills, Arizona and Holly Bowers of Tempe, Arizona, a daughter-in-law Virginia Burnette Bowers of Mesa, Arizona, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, Bill Mead, Tennessee, Dick Mead, Michigan and Diane Rabine, Paradise Valley Arizona. Virginia was living in New Baltimore Michigan where she met Alva and they moved to Phoenix in 1956. She retired from the Arizona State Compensation Fund after spending her early years raising her family. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 27th at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave.Phoenix at 10 A.M..
