

Warren McGrady passed away peacefully on April 17th surrounded by his wife Mary, grand daughter Christie, daughter Patty and son in law Danny. He also was able to facetime his daughter Shannon earlier that morning and tell her that he loved her.
He died after a short battle with cancer. He was 78 years old.
Warren was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 7th, 1945. He was the oldest of twin boys. He was one of eight children of Mother Florence and Father DeHart McGrady. The family moved to Warrenville, Illinois where they had a house built. Warren and his twin brother Lesley went into the Navy where they were both stationed in Kingsville, Texas during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The Navy was requesting further enlistments because of the escalation of the war in Vietnam. Both boys declined and were Honorably Discharged. Warren graduated from the American Jet School to work on Jet engines and soon was employed by VacHyde in Arlington Texas.
He later moved his family to Phoenix, Arizona and was heavily involved in electronic assembly. He worked at Honeywell in Tempe, Arizona and later at Walker Power. He decided to retire in 2010. Warren always had a love for radio control airplanes and also designed and built and flew one for many years. He was currently in the process of completing a Citabria with a six foot wingspan. Due to a stroke and failing eyesight, he was unable to complete it. Warren and Mary enjoyed traveling with Carnival cruise line and went to many tropical islands.
Warren leaves behind his wife Mary of 55 wonderful years, a son Michael Rasmussen, daughters Patricia Ann McCloud, Shannon Louise McGrady-Thomas, and Elizabeth Jean Rose. Granddaughter Christie Lynn McGrady, Grandson Christopher Scott Thomas, and Grandson Nicholas Warren Rasmussen and 4 beautiful great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Lesley, brother Jeff and father Dehart. He was fortunate enough to spend his last day with his brother Tim and his wife Wendy who came from Kenai, Alaska. As well as his son Michael, his Fiance Jay, daughter Elizabeth and 2 great grandchildren. He leaves behind his Mother Florence, brothers Bill, Tim, Mike, and sisters Patricia and Sharon.
The family is planning on spreading his ashes in a small ceremony at the flying field, where he enjoyed many hours flying his airplanes. His ashes will be scattered over the flying field from a radio control airplane. He will be greatly missed but will continue flying in our hearts.
