William “Bill” Lamb, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on November 18, 2025. He was born on September 5, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, and built a life rooted in family, hard work, loyalty, and simple joys.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; his sister, Roma; and his brother, Jim. He leaves behind his three children—William, Steven, and Robert—who will forever cherish his guidance, humor, and steady presence. He is also lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren: Sydney, Madison, Robert, Keira, Teagan, and Brandon, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.
A dedicated worker since his teens and natural leader, Bill built a long and respected career in retail. He began at White Front and continued through the years with Zodys, Marshalls, Mervyns, and Target before retiring from Orchard Supply Hardware. Even in retirement, Bill enjoyed staying connected to his community—working the polls during elections and serving as an usher for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, where he greeted fans with his trademark personality.
Bill was a lifelong lover of sports and movies. He cherished his many seasons spent attending UCLA football games with Bill, Mike, and Dave and had a knack for calling family members during his favorite cinematic moments—when the tinker split the arrow, when it was time for a new stopwatch, when Sam was asked to play it again, and when Robert the Bruce rose up for Scotland. These calls became beloved traditions, reminders of his enthusiasm and his desire to share joy with the people he loved.
He was loved by many - his humor, his wit, and his amazing hugs will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life will be held in January 2026.
