I first met Bonnie in 1957 when I was dating (and later married) her brother Al.  I remember Bonnie most for her kindness and warmth towards me and her guidance in helping me (a very young new mom) care for my first-born son Scott.  Two of my favorite memories are of Bonnie bathing her kids in a galvanized tub in the back yard of the house on Tonto street; first the girls and then the boys.  The kids would laugh and splash and it was clear that Bonnie really loved her children.  I remember also a beautiful Thanksgiving day in 1959 when Bonnie and her mother Virginia cooked a great meal and we all ate outside in the warm Arizona sun.  I still have home movies of that day with Bonnie swinging with the kids in a swing set in the yard.  I haven't seen Bonnie for many years but she stayed in touch with my son Scott and I heard, over the years, all about her retirement activities.  I hope Bonnie is with two of the people she most loved and was loved by:  WO and her mom.   Rest in peace old friend.

Words, however kind, can't mend your heartache: But those who care and share your loss, wish you comfort and peace of mind.

My mother's obituary is missing but I can tell you a little about her.  She raised 4 (Rusty, Ronnie, Gwenda and Marsha) children on a budget but she always made sure we had Christmas presents, tooth fairy money, Easter baskets, birthday gifts with our favorite dinner followed by our choice of cake that she made from scratch.

She loved her job and was happy to be hired at Motorola in the '60s.  She received numerous career pins due to her promptness and work ethic - she neither missed a day nor was she ever late once in over 30 years.

She loved to sew and made most of our clothes when we were small.  As we left home her passion became jewelry making although how she made anything with those beeds the size of sand grains I'll never understand but she loved it!  I watched her sell a pair of earrings to a stranger in a store.  My mom was wearing them at the time!  This thrilled her to no end.  Cash spoke to my mom as well as her whole generation...the depression taught them lessons most of us will never understand but she learned them well as she was thrifty!  She could pinch a quarter 'til the Eagle screamed!  Sunday was one chicken she fried to golden perfection and shared amongst six family members.  The other six days of the week was pinto beans and cornbread but we were never hungry.  I'd give anything to have a plate of either meal again.  She was one awesome cook and a tough act to follow!

Lastly, she loved animals.  She would have had hundreds if she could but the few she adopted, took in and kept alive due to her kindness and generosity were lucky to have known her.  Her coupon clipping kept more than a family alive for a long, long time.  This is the one genetic trait passed on to me that I am most proud of.

My mom, Bonnie, was a wonderful woman and she set the bar very, very high.

Thank you for everything Bonnie...you were instrumental in making me the person I am today.  I love you and I will miss you forever.  Your daughter - Marsha/Scout

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mom. You know I will be thinking of you and your family over these next few difficult days. I hope these sad days can also become days of joyful reflection as you and your siblings remember all your mom's goodness.

Bonnie was my ex mother-n-law. I was married to her daughter Marsha. Bonnie was a beautiful woman who was always very special to me. She always treated me very well and I will miss her dearly. Bill Roberts
