Mrs. Carrie Lee Lewis

Carrie Lee Cassell Lewis, 90, widow of Lester Jacob Lewis, went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Mrs. Lewis was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Robert and Bertha Cantrell Cassell. She was homemaker and well known as a baker of cakes and pies both for individuals and restaurants. She was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church. Surviving are sons, Jacob Lee Lewis (Marilyn) of Pickens and Steve Robert Lewis (Kathy) of Easley and daughters, Patricia Ann Thompson (Terry) of Easley and Nancy Gilstrap (Donnie) of Pickens, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Brothers include Clifton Cassell, and Cartee Cassell and sisters, Christine Lewis and Cleon Meece. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Gilstrap, a great grandson, Roper Crowe, sisters, Corrine Edens and Clessie Rea Gravely and a brother, Carmon Cassell. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens with funeral services following at 3 PM in the funeral home chapel.
