It's been 9 years since I last saw Butch, when we were working at Oconee Power plant.  It's been 3 years since his passing.  It's been about 3 days since he came into my thoughts, again.  Butch was one of a kind!

It's been 8 years since I worked at Oconee power plant with Butch.  Whenever I discuss my work there with friends, I always mention that while there I worked with Butch Black, the nicest person I ever worked with in my entire career.  He was one of a kind.

My favorite memory of Butch Black was listening to him talk about all the many goings on in his family.  Always a smile and a twinkle in his eyes, whenever talking about Robin, his children, or grandchildren.  I could tell how much he loved each and every one, no matter what was going on.
I admired his steadfast love for all of his family.  God bless you all.

I worked with Butch at Vogtle Power plant in Waynesboro Georgia. Butch had an amazing character. He was both a complete professional and cared for those on his team with a maturity I rarely see. I appreciate his earnestness, wisdom, and cleverness to solve technical and people problems at the same time. He lead, taught, and produced excellent work in a way that made Butch a clear role model.  We really miss him.

I am really saddened to hear of Butch’s passing. I came to know him mid 2018 and closely worked together for more than 2 years. He was the most dedicated hardworking and genuine person I’ve worked with. My Sincere condolences to his family.

We belong to God and to Him we shall return.


We have known Butch and Robin since the summer of 2009 and enjoyed their company so very much.  This passing really caught our family by surprise and brought deep sadness to our hearts.

God Bless Butch Black and watch over his wonderful family in this time of sadness.  He will be deeply missed.

We are so glad that we got to see him twice in the last year.  We know that your faith is strong and that God has a plan, but it sure is hard to understand right now.  We are so sad at my cousins Butch’s passing . Butch was such a fine man . We grew up together and was close until life
pulled  us all in different directions .  I know his family loved him dearly . His mannerisms reminded me of his father, his grandfather and his great grandfather . The only comforting thought is at least we know where he is .
