Butch was born in Gastonia, NC on June 22, 1956 to Janet Stutzman Black of Stanley, NC and the late Charles Taylor Black, Sr. He was a man with a joyful spirit and a servant's heart. He was full of integrity and blessed others with his generosity. Butch was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather that instilled family values throughout his life and was the true definition of being a Godly man. He enjoyed camping and fishing, was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and attended Calvary Chapel in Traveler's Rest.
In addition to his loving wife of 43 years, Butch is survived by his three children: Alana Principato (Joe) of Easley, Kyle Black (Becca) of Charlotte, NC, and Bethany Edwards (Chris) of Taylors; his five grandchildren: Aven, Fallyn, Kingston, Lennox, and Reynah; two brothers: Kenny Black (Glenda) of Mt. Holly, NC and Tommy Black (Crystal) of Stanley, NC; and a sister: Kathy White (Hank) of Matthews, NC.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with U.S. Navy military honors.
