Charles was born in Pickens, SC on July 14, 1943 to the late Robert Paul and Clara Earle Porter. He was a hard-worker, and that was shown through his numerous jobs throughout his life, with his most recent being as a trades specialist for the SCDOT. Charles loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his two daughters: Sandra Anne Watson and Robin Porter both of Central; a son: Charles B. Porter, Jr. (Lynn) of Six Mile; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife and his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a great-grandson: Christopher Moore; and two brothers: Howard Porter and Roy Porter.
According to his wishes, no formal services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Upstate: 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
