

Born in Seneca, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Paskell Elijah Holland and Margaret Pressley Holland. He was a former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where he previously served as an usher. He owned The Pickens Ice Cream Parlor along with his late wife for many years and later retired to spend more time farming, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed going to farmers’ markets and canning, but mostly he spent his time surrounded by family and his dog Zoey, sharing memories they will always cherish.
Davis was survived by his three daughters, Donna Foster (Lee), Rhonda Burroughs (Johnny), and Denise Cook (Jamey); step-daughter, Valerie McCrady (Greg); son by heart, John Dockins (Alison); eleven grandchildren: Cory Cook (Caitlin), Haley Pataky (Demetri), John-Davis Burroughs (Briana), Evie Herron, Christian McCrady ,Robbie Seitz, Tanner McCrady, Ashley McCrady, Aubrey Dockins, Savannah Dockins, and Carly Dockins; one great-granddaughter, Sunny Jo Pataky; brothers: Ross Holland (Angeline), Charles Holland, and Ralph Holland (Doris); sisters: Linda Sercu, Patsy Cartee (Bobby). He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Lee Holland; two brothers, Richard Holland and Wade Holland.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Dillard Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, South Carolina. The funeral service will begin in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm with the committal service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
