I have had the pleasure of seeing Elbert as a patient(in the dental office) for the last 7 years. I always look forward to his visit and knew that I was going to have a great day just because I was getting to see him! I loved hearing his jokes and stories about his family...he loved you all dearly...and was especially proud of his great-granddaughter. To say that he will be missed is an understatement. I just wanted you to know that he impacted my life and made a difference to me...even though I only saw him twice a year. You will all be in my prayers in the days to come. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to see him again one day!

Elbert and I worked together on many outages at Duke. He was one of the sweetest men I ever had the opportunity to work with.
He was always talking about his family and how he loved each of them. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather. He displayed that sentiment proudly.
Elbert is at home with our Father and his family members that went before him.
We will see him again and I suspect sooner than later.
