We spent many years with Eli in the Saint George community. Years of Bible study where he always had a keen insights. He loved his Serbian Orthodox Church. He was full of joy and love. I remember when he worked at breaking out our basement wall sledging through a cement foundation wall to make a new door at our home on Park Ave, the trips to Columbia for doctors appointments at the VA, building a fence at the monastery, meals at tonys, moving from apt to apt,  and many more. We used to kid a lot about the steelers and the dirty steel town. He was very humble and always a gentleman. We always ejoyed his company and helping him. With his faith and way of life he should find a place among the saints in heaven. He will always be remembered by us as he was like a member of our family while he was still mobile.  Once he moved to Pickens it was harder to keep in touch but we tried regularily to come and see that he had holy communion once or twice each year. We loved him dearly and will miss him! May his memory be eternal!
