ELMER DEAN DUNCAN, 97, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at his home. Born in Six Mile, SC, on December 1, 1919, he was the son of the late Esley Mack and Hattie Nix Duncan. Mr. Duncan was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley, and served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII as Sergeant in the 725 Field Artillery Battalion. Surviving are his two sons, Randy D. Duncan (Kathie) of Hickory, NC and Eddie R. Duncan of Maiden, NC; a special friend, Lillian Stewart; one brother, Calvin Duncan (Ruth); two sisters, Eloise Haire and Frances Greene; two sisters-in-law, Martha Duncan and Willie Grace Duncan, and many loving nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Mr. Duncan was predeceased by one son, David M. Duncan; one sister and six brothers. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. David Gallamore officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
