

Eloise was born on February 5, 1935 in Pickens County, SC., she was the daughter of the late William Loyd and Inez Pace Trotter. She graduated from Pickens High School where she was the class Secretary and those duties followed her through the years. She planned many 1953 class reunions and lunches. Eloise loved seeing and spending time with her class mates.
Eloise as a young child was a member of Pickens Mill Church, which changed names to East Pickens Baptist Church. Eloise was an active member for many years and as a young woman was one of the co-founders of the Senior Citizens Group. Eloise is currently an active member of Northside Baptist Church.
Her working career, started out at Gayley Mills in Marietta, SC as a young woman. After a short period of time, Eloise started baking cakes and selling them to the public. Eloise made many birthday cakes and pound cakes for the Pickens/Easley area. Eloise specialty cake was her famous pound cake. Eloise’s career really started with a permanent job with Pickens County School District. She retired after 35 years from Pickens High School as the Cafeteria Manager, after retirement she continued to work part time for 2 more years. With school being out for the Summers, Eloise took a summer position with McCall RA Camp in Sunset, SC for 14 years, working in the dining hall.
Eloise’s passion in life was to cook and bake for her family and friends. Baking a pound cake to give away was her joy in life.
She was married to the late Harold Lloyd Grant for 41 years at his passing in 1994. She is survived by her children, Hal Grant (Tracy) of Salem, SC and Cindy Grant of Greenville, SC.; grandchildren Brandon Grant (Christina) and Cora Beth Setzer (Quinton); as well as 4 great grandchildren, Anslee Thornton, Rylee Grant, Leni Setzer and Bodhi Setzer. Also surviving is her sister, Brenda T. Parson of Cleveland, GA, along with her very special children that Eloise loved as her grandchildren, Amanda Goldman (Brian), Michelle Loudermilk (Jake), and Ashley Miller (David). Eloise also had their children to enjoy over the years, Corbin Loudermilk, Luke Goldman, Ansley Loudermilk, Sam Goldman, Tori Loudermilk and Ellie Jane Miller.
Eloise had some very special friends that loved her like family, Barbara S. Ard, Betty Richards, and Alta Rathwell.
She was predeceased by her brother, Curtis L. Trotter and his wife Elneda of Greenville and their grandson, Richard C. Vanderwood; a brother-in-law, Martin E. Parson of Cleveland, GA.
Funeral Service will be Friday, February 14, 2025 at Northside Baptist Church, Pickens, SC at 3:00 with visitation before service at 2:00. Burial will take place after service at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Ron Wilson, Blaine Grant, Jake Loudermilk, David Miller, Brandon Grant, and Corbin Loudermilk.
