I can't think of Arial Baptist Church without thinking of Elwanda. From the time I was a little girl, there was always Elwanda. If you needed something....ask Elwanda. If something was wrong...ask Elwanda. We were blessed to have Elwanda as our secretary. After all these years I can't remember if we paid her or not but if we did, it certainly wasn't enough! She was always working at the church. Through the years, she was my Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, GA teacher. I used to love to ride in her little car. Boy, could she drive that thing! She could change those gears with the best of them. She never turned us down if we needed a chaperone for our youth group. As much as we loved Elwanda, she loved us right back. She will always have a special spot in my heart. Silman, you have my deepest sympathy! You were special to us, also, because Elwanda usually brought you along on our trips. You sure made a contribution Silman, I don't think I have ever had as many Bible Drills in my life as we had in your Training Union class. I miss those precious times but they remain in my heart and mind. Silman you and Elwanda made a difference in my life. I pray that God wraps His loving arms around you as you grieve your precious, Elwanda.
