Evelyn C. Payne, age 81, of Conway, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021. She was born August 12, 1940, to the late Lester and Gladys Childs. She was also the widow of the late James P. Payne, Jr. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Griffin Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lynne (Monty) Beacham and Lisa (Billy) Gardo. Also her grandchildren Mathew, Jamie, Dustin, Christian, Ashley, and one great-grandson, Jacob, one brother, Alton Childs, and several loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Griffin Baptist Church, 1629 Pumpkintown Hwy., Pickens, SC 29671.
