Mrs. Frances L. Burns Griswold

Williamson, GA

Frances L. Griswold (Polly), 80, entered into eternal rest on Friday May 23, 2014 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Georgia.

Polly was born on October 27, 1933 in Greenville, SC, one of nine children born to Sarah Jane Ross Burns and Pinckney Burns. She married the late Orley Ava Griswold on January 9, 1954 and together they enjoyed 24 years of travel and adventure in the Air Force and 40 years of marriage.

Polly is survived by a brother, Pinckney Burns, Jr.; five children, Teresea Bible (Donnie) of Palmetto, GA, Jerry Griswold (Patti) of Salley, SC, Phillip Griswold (Windy) of Pinopolis, SC, Jane Lewis (Sid) of Pickens, SC and Ava Kearney of Williamson, GA; nine grandchildren, Michelle Cantrell (Doug), Jennifer Johnson (Dan), Joanna Rodriguez (Zackery), Abbi Griswold, Lauran Henderson (Josh), Sarah Hamby, Ross Hamby (Monica), Nicole Kearney and Devon Kearney; and five great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Polly’s life will be held on Monday, May 26, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with a visitation prior from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM. Burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
