Mr. Anthony was born in Pickens, SC on March 21, 1961 to the late William Alvin and Geneva Elizabeth Ramey Anthony. A precious, loving brother, he was one of 11 children and enjoyed his family, his home, and spending time with his friends. Fred was beloved and respected by all who knew him, and many people throughout the community have been affected by his kindness and generosity throughout the years. A man with a heart to serve the community, he began driving a school bus for Pickens High School, and from there, went to the Pickens County EMS where he retired with numerous years of service as their Director. Fred also was a member of the Pickens Volunteer Rescue Squad for over 25 years, and in his free time enjoyed "riding around his back 40". Fred didn't want to retire completely, so he began working part-time with Adventure Golf Carts in Piedmont where he served in their service department. He was loved and respected by many, and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Anthony is survived by his three siblings: Irene Anthony Dyches (Jimmy) of Pickens, Diane Hebb (Arch) of Pickens, and Dennis Anthony of Pickens; two sisters-in-law: Linda Anthony of Pickens and Shirley White of West Union; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by seven siblings: Durrell Anthony, Larry Anthony, David Anthony, Truman Anthony, Johnny Anthony, Dwaine Anthony, and Carson Anthony.
The family will host a service to celebrate and honor Fred's life at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at "Fred's Back 40".
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the EMMA K.A.P.P Project, Sponsored by the Pickens County EMS: c/o Lane Wood: 12 Ridgeline Drive, Liberty, SC, 29657.
