Gordon Bryson Turner, 74, of Central, husband of Pennie Pulver Turner, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at his home. Mr. Turner was born in Spartanburg County, a son of the late William Marvin and Comilla Mae Smith Turner. He was retired from The School District of Pickens County Operations and was a member of Alive Wesleyan Church. Mr. Turner earned a Master’s Degree from Clemson University and he was a United States Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Pennie P. Turner of the home, a daughter, Amy Hardin (James) of Cleveland, SC and a son, Gordon Bryson Turner (Lorie) of Pickens, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Verlin Blackwell of Duncan, SC and brothers, Joe Turner of Lyman, SC and Charles Turner of Greenville, SC. A memorial service will be held 3 PM Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Alive Wesleyan Church.
