Born on October 31, 1937, he was the son of the late Roy and Carrie McClain. He was a devoted member of Pickens First Baptist Church. Jim saw his church as an extension of his family, and he deeply loved and appreciated the people who made it what it was. In his spare time, he enjoyed small woodworking projects and spent time tending to his yard. Jim had a strong work ethic and gave his all to any job or project he completed. He instilled those same values of faith and integrity in his family and the loved ones who surrounded him. He loved his family and enjoyed making the memories they will cherish forever.
