My name is Jennifer and I was his daughter in law for 11 years. I loved him dearly. He will be missed. 11 years is along time to be a part of someone’s life. I may not be a part of the family anymore but I send my prayers, thoughts, and hugs to Marjorie and the rest of his family 

Dad was a father that always put his wife and family first. Growing up he and mom would work their tails off so on the weekends they would take us camping or just be able to spend time with us. They would take two and three week vacations and would brave taking four boys across country in a small camper so we all could see the country God has created for us.  He would make sure he and mom was at every grandkids band contests and great grandkids chorus and cheerleading events. He always was there if you had any problems. He would lay awake at night and think of how to resolve the problem and  call you the next day with the resolutions or advice. He was a loving man of few words. He never said “I Love You” but you always knew he did. When you would say I love you to him you either got an “OK or YUP”. I should have told him more often how much I loved him and how much he was appreciated.  I believe that even though he had health issues the past few years it was the best years of his life. I have never seen him smile and be so content and at peace as he was the last years. He will be greatly missed.  I love you dad. I can’t wait for us to meet again.

Dad, you made me smile in my heart.  You were so sweet and funny.  I always told you that you were tough on the outside but you were a big marshmallow on the inside.  You just grinned and you knew it was true.  I loved it when you and Mom, Scott and I went to the antique stores and spent time together.  I will always love you, and I know that we will be together again,  in Heaven.  I was not your daughter by birth dad, but I will always be your daughter by heart.  I miss you so much.  See you soon. 

 Mr. Gene was a true gentleman and always willing to help others. Praying for your family 🙏

Sorry to hear of Gene’s passing. I worked with Gene several years before he retired and we used to sit and enjoy talking together.   My thoughts and prayers are with you.
