Travelers Rest, SC – Mrs. Joyce “Darlene” Brown Rucci, age 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 29, 2020. Mrs. Rucci was born in Colville, Washington and was the daughter of the late Evan E. Brown and Oleta L. Hottell and wife to Joseph F. Rucci.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years and four sons: Michael Rucci from Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Scott Rucci (Julia) from Raleigh, North Carolina, Christopher Rucci (Erica) from Greer, South Carolina and Robert Rucci (Mary Beth) from Cleveland, South Carolina. Also surviving is a sister Nancy Zalud (Bob) from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and brother Edward Pace (Donna) from Quincey, Washington. Mrs. Rucci leaves behind many precious and loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Rucci was predeceased by a son Brian Rucci whose surviving wife Melissa remains dear to the family, a sister Joan Riley (Leonard), a sister in law Jane Pace and brother Steve Brown whose surviving wife June Brown is dear to us.
Mrs. Rucci was strong in faith. She was a member at Upcountry Church in Travelers Rest, South Carolina and hosted the new member welcome events at her home and served as head greeter at the church as well. She was the glue that held the family strong. She loved her family and her grandchildren, in fact, she loved all children with a passion. Mrs. Rucci never met a stranger.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date to be held at Upcountry Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Upcountry Church at 15 Renfrew Ave Travelers Rest, South Carolina 29690.
