

Kathleen was born June 25th,1936, in Jackson County, NC, daughter of the late Cos and Bessie Galloway. She married Reverend Wayne Hoxit in September of 1954. Kathleen worked as a seamstress for Sir Shirt Makers in Pickens, SC for 20 years. She assisted her husband with his ministries at local churches and volunteered at the Salvation Army. Kathleen enjoyed camping with her family, sewing, tending to her garden, and cooking for loved ones. Kathleen was a member of Rocky Bottom Baptist Church.
Survivors include her four children: Belva Jean Fleming (Christopher) of Ocala, FL, Chester Hoxit (Cecilia) of Easley, Wayne DeLee Hoxit of Greenville, and Angela Bowen (Michael) of Pickens; ten grandchildren: Michael, Tonya, David, Ashley, McKenzie, Carlin, Zachery, Hannah, Conner and Chloe, eleven great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, two brothers: Dewey Galloway and Dallas Galloway; and one sister: JoAnn Connelly; In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Wayne Hoxit, her daughters Ima Jean and Bettie Mae (Stewart), and sister Aileen Owen.
Kathleen died surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.lbda.org. Messages of condolence may be made to the family or through the website www.DillardHillcrest.com.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Justin Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, SC.
