Kayla was born in Easley, SC on September 21, 1986 to Richard and Wanda Chastain Woody of Easley, SC. She was a loving woman who had a contagious smile, and a laugh like no other that would brighten up any room. Having an adventurous spirit, she loved traveling, even if it was just to find breakfast at her favorite restaurant in Gatlinburg. Kayla was full of life. She cherished it and truly lived each day like it was her last. Along with being so full of life, came her "spunkiness" which would go toe to toe with anyone and she was quick to give anything you gave to her back to you. Kayla loved shopping with her mom and cousins, and going on vacations with her family, especially to the lake house. Most important to Kayla, above everything else, was family. Her love for everyone was shown in a giving spirit that would always have her choose you over her any day. In her last few months, Kayla showed everyone the true fighter that she was. She pressed through everything she was gave and everything that she had to go through, and still somehow found a way to smile.
Kayla loved her work. She currently worked in the front office of Gastroenterology Associates, and was proud to be part of their family. The family would like to express a sincere thanks for all of the care and love they have shown both Kayla and them throughout all these last few months.
In addition to her parents, Kayla is survived by her sister: Misty Woody of Easley; her Fiancé: Jonathan Springer of Greenville; her fur baby which she loved like a child: Parker; a special uncle: Nicky Brush of Easley; a special cousin who was also her best friend: Dana Moss (Steven), Elijah Moss, and Jayde Moss of Easley; and two special cousins: Regina Overby (Ray Welborn) and Kyle Overby of Easley. Kayla also leaves behind numerous cousins, relatives, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.
Kayla was preceded in death by a special aunt: Gin Brush.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate Kayla's life will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Sunday, December 19, 2021 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, prior to the services, at Dillard Funeral Home.
The family is at the residence.
