

Kent C. Ryder Pickens – Kent Carson Ryder, Sr. 94, husband of Wanda Mae Gill Ryder, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Mr. Ryder was born in West Virginia, a son of the late Arthur Ryder and the late Vesta Ryder Mullins. He was retired as a heavy equipment operator and he was a member of Bethany Church of God in Pickens and Solid Rock Baptist Church in Liberty. Mr. Ryder was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. For many years he served his Lord as an evangelist. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Mae Ryder, sons, David Ryder, Kent Ryder, Jr., Gary Ryder, Michael Ryder, Nelson Ryder, Ray Ryder, and Timothy Ryder, daughters, Norma Davis, Mary Bowman, and Diane Vannoy (Eldon). Surviving also are step children, George Chappell, Jr., Ronnie Chappell (Glenda), Renee Carpenter (Billy), Carolyn Thompson (Barry), and Juanita Proffit (Robbie). Brothers include Huey Mullins, and Douglas Mullins. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Dillard Funeral Home on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2 to 3:15 PM and funeral services will follow at 3:30 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
