Mr. Henderson was born in Oconee County a son of the late Julius V. and Ethel Carpenter Henderson. He was retired from Monaghan Mill in Greenville and was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church and The Woodmen of The World.
Survivors include his son, William R. Henderson (Betty) of Pickens, grandchildren Angie Laughlin (Jon), Sherry Boggs (John), Beth Brato (Dey), and Ed Moore. Great grandchildren include Will Boggs, Neely Boggs, Llore Beth Brato, Luke Brato, Ty Boggs, and Lizzie Brato. He is also survived by his sisters, Chistine Cox, Frances Buchanan, and Shelby Finley all of Pickens.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Louis Henderson.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 12 Noon to 1 PM at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens with funeral services following in the funeral home chapel at 1 PM. Burial will be at Griffin Baptist Church Cemetery.
