Lucille Powell

Born on January 1, 1937, in Sapphire, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John and Georgia Whitmire Franks. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Prayer Baptist Church in Central.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Austin Harlan Powell; two daughters, Susan Davis (Ben) and Nancy Kelly (Mark); one son, Randy Powell (Martha Miller); one sister, Jessie Beddingfield; two brothers, Ed Franks and Earl Franks; four grandchildren, Kayla McCollum (Jeremy), Anna Roche (Brian), Bradley Hyder (Dominique) and Melissa Hyder and three great-grandchildren, Carter McCollum, Andan McCollum and Austin Hyder.

Mrs. Powell was also predeceased by one daughter, Angela King and five brothers.

The family will receive friends on Friday November 30, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jimmy Anthony, Jr. officiating.

Burial will be at White Water Baptist Church, Sapphire, North Carolina, following the funeral services.
