

Born in Piedmont, South Carolina, he was the son of the late John Samuel and Marion Blanche Major Rampey. Mr. Rampey is a Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He had obtained his AB Degree at Southern Wesleyan University and later obtained his Master Degree with Clemson University. One of his accomplishments in his career was starting the Belton Wesleyan Church. Mr. Rampey was also an Alumni President of Central College and President of Buckingham Camp Meeting. Some of his pastimes were gardening, working with young people, teaching the Bible, writing sermons, working on small engines, and woodworking.
Surviving is his wife, Martha Loretta Rampey of Easley, South Carolina; a son, Timothy Paul Rampey; a step-son, Gordon Smith; a granddaughter; Rena Herring (Jon); a grandson, Timothy Paul Rampey, Jr. (Megan); a step-granddaughter; Dana Smith Kelly; two brothers, Joe Rampey and Robert Rampey; and a sister, Doris Higgins.
Mr. Rampey was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Marian Anne Rampey; six brothers, John W. Rampey, Curtis Rampey, Major Rampey, Leon Rampey, Marshall Rampey, and Fred Rampey; and three sisters, Helen Mullinax, Ruby McCall, and Mary Sprouse.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home, with Reverend Paul Mullinax officiating. An Inurnment will be at a later date at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grove Station Baptist Church, 640 Piedmont Hwy, Piedmont, South Carolina 29673.
