Nannie Margaret Wade Alexander passed into her heavenly reward and home on July 21, 2025 at age 98. She was married to Lee Alexander for 68 years who passed away in January of 2016 and who has been waiting for her to arrive home in heaven since that time. She was a wonderful mother to four children: Terry (Dianne), Jimmy (Linda), Donna (Gene), and Gary. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, with another one on the way. She was a homemaker until all of her children entered school and then returned to work and retired from Monaghan Mill. She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church in San Souci and worked with children, giving them an example of Godly Christian behavior, pointing them in the direction that led to belief and salvation through Jesus. She and Lee enjoyed camping in Maggie Valley, NC, and her family has fond memories of spending Labor day weekend for 28 years there. This weekend was a time of family fellowship, association with friends, and a kind of love that can only come from a Christian home with God honoring parents. She gave her family a terrific example of a work ethic that allowed her to cut her grass and hedges well into her 90s, and then to feel bad about herself when she could no longer do so. She passed this work ethic down to her children. She and Lee gave up much time to lovingly care for a special needs child, keeping him at home, sacrificing their time to ensure that his needs were met. During her later years when both were in assisted living, her one true regret was not being able to take care of Gary and not being around him. Her thoughts were about him most of the time and she always wanted to know how he was doing. She and Lee were a great example of parents who sacrificed much to love and care for a special needs child. It was not easy, but nothing worthwhile in life is ever easy and it takes true love for these kinds or sacrifices to be made. Most of all, she was the ideal example of a Godly Christian woman, to her family and friends. She is now free from pain and the troubles of this world and, while we miss her, we celebrate her going home and joining her beloved husband and our dad Lee in the presence of Jesus. To our God be the glory and honor forever.
