Steve was born in Easley, SC on June 5, 1969 to Patrick Albert Barr (Linda) of Easley; and Greta Ann Dover Fortenberry (Herman) of Easley. He worked for BI-LO Grocery Stores for 33 years, and was currently working with Love's Travel Stop in Commerce, GA. Mr. Barr graduated from Anderson University, USC Upstate, and Southern Wesleyan University, where he received his Master's Degree. He loved baseball, and played during his high school years, as well as for the American Legion Post #52, Anderson University, and USC Upstate. Mr. Barr was inducted into the Easley High School Hall of Fame for his baseball career, and loved to go on fishing trips with his family to Garden City. He also loved playing cards with his friends, Clemson Football, and was a member of Secona Baptist Church.
In addition to his loving wife and parents, Mr. Barr is survived by a daughter: Jada Madison Barr of the home; a sister: Leslie Lawless (Chris) of Piedmont; a special niece: Annmarie Lawless of Piedmont; five step-siblings: Dwight Fortenberry (Tammy) of Rock Hill, Michael Fortenberry (Melissa) of Easley, Cynthia Ray of Norris, Wendy Byrum of Greenville, and Missy Tinsley of Greenville; his father and mother-in-law: Randy and Doris Watson of Pickens; a special Uncle: Robert Dover (Deborah) of Easley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 20, 2020 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the committal service at the cemetery.
