Ron was born in 1951 in Seneca, SC where he was raised by his loving parents, the late Rev. Paul David Duncan, Sr. and the late Maude Nelms Duncan.
Ron started his career after graduating from Clemson University with an Engineering Degree, where he worked at Sangamo in Pickens, SC. Shortly after moving to Pickens, Ron changed careers and spent the next 25 years serving at Pickens High School as a teacher. Ron taught Math, Physics, and Teacher Cadets and was a beloved member of the Blue Flame Family. During this time, Ron turned his love of photography into a successful business taking wedding pictures, sports portraits, and family pictures.
Ron’s true passion in life was sharing his relationship with Jesus Christ. Ron’s love for Christ was not just spoken, but acted out in his daily life by how he loved and cared for his fellow man. As an active member, Sunday School Teacher, and Deacon at East Pickens Baptist Church, Ron actively worked to share the Good News across the local community, state, and world. Ron retired early from PHS after feeling called to the mission field, where he and Jane served in the East Asia for several years. Ron returned from his missionary service and led the Pickens Twelve Mile Association as the Director of Missions. During his lifetime, Ron ministered in 14 different countries on over 30 mission trips sharing his love for Jesus.
In addition to his loving wife, Ron is survived by his three sons: Jamie and his wife Chrissy, Jeff and his wife Bonnie, and Jonathan and his wife Erin; and six grandchildren: Anna Beth, Sarah, Brooke, Paige, Macie, and Lucy.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by two brothers: David and Billy Duncan.
