She was the wife of the late Samuel E. Knight. She was also a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and special friend to many.
She was a lifelong member of Gap Hill Church of God where she was involved in various ministries including teaching children and the Adult Three Sunday School Class. Ruby was also known for her macaroni & cheese and 7-layer chocolate cake made delicious by the abundance of butter. Her lively personality and wit will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon (Larry) Anderson, of Ortonville, MI, Sonja (David) Kemp, of Bethalto, IL, and Susan (Robby) Fendley of Six Mile, SC; five grandchildren, Sean (Angela) Anderson, of Lake Orion, MI, Stefan (Krista) Anderson, of Clarkston, MI, Lee (Jennifer) Kemp, of Fort Cavazos, TX, Briana (Jonathan) Bennett, of Rock Hill, SC, and Grant Fendley of Six Mile, SC; eleven great- grandchildren, Spencer, Slade, Evan, Scarlet, and Bella Anderson; David Lee, Ella, and Annie Kemp; Trinity, Rory and Ruby Bennett, who loved their “MaMa Ruby” very much.
She is also survived by sisters, Debra Bryant, Brenda Hooper, Yvonne Lomax, and sister-in-law, Myremn Durham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Waco and Dorthula Durham; brother, Garvin “Bud” Durham; and sisters, Barbara Ann Stone and Doris Ellenburg.
The Celebration of Life will be held May 14, 2024, 2:00 P.M. at Gap Hill Church of God, 3540 Walhalla Hwy, Six Mile, SC. The service will be preceded by receiving of friends from 12 noon to 1:45 P.M.
