Sleta Edens Powers

Sleta Edens Powers Pickens, SC Sleta E. Powers, wife of the late Jack Powers, passed away at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, South Carolina on February 26, 2015. Born in Pickens County, Sleta was the daughter of the late John Edens and Mary Cantrell Edens and was the last surviving member of her family. She retired from Brunswick Mills after many years of devoted service. After retiring, her favorite hobby continued to be working in her yard and growing her many beautiful flowers. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Powell; grandchildren: Tim Powell (Gladys) of Liberty, Debra Merck (Chris) of Pickens, Jackie Dale Walsh (Tom) of Easley; great grandchildren: Jackie Powell, Kayla Powell, Kristi Merck; great great grandchildren: Kase Powell, Azarah Witthoeft, Kyle Fennell. Several nieces and nephews as well as four brothers, Enos, Ellis, Wendell and Ira Edens and one sister Sadie Chappell proceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 11 Am until 12 Noon Saturday at Dillard Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow in the chapel at 12 Noon. Burial follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Carolyn Powell, 4627 Moorefield Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina. Dillard Funeral Home is assisting the Powers family.
